Set mode: Standard execution #

Standard execution is a general purpose, ad-hoc analytics mode. It is a basic execution mode.

For most use cases, we recommend using Starburst Warp Speed

There are many reasons to choose the Standard execution mode for your cluster. Here are some things to consider:

• Standard is the default mode and available with all cloud providers.
• Unlike Starburst Warp Speed, you can configure autoscaling on a cluster in Standard execution mode.
• Standard mode is most efficient for short-running queries.

When configuring your cluster in the Admin > Clusters pane, the Standard option from the Execution mode drop-down menu is the default execution mode.
