AWS PrivateLink for Snowflake #
Use the following steps to securely connect your Starburst Galaxy cluster to Snowflake using AWS PrivateLink.
You must work with a Starburst technical resource to complete your PrivateLink configuration. Contact your account team for more information.
This topic assumes you have the following:
- A Snowflake Business Critical Edition subscription type or higher.
- Access to your Snowflake account’s ACCOUNTADMIN role.
You must configure a separate AWS PrivateLink connection for each catalog you want to connect to Starburst Galaxy.
Allow Starburst Galaxy access to Snowflake #
To allow Starburst Galaxy access to your Snowflake account using AWS PrivateLink, you must complete the following steps:
Add the Galaxy CIDR to a network rule #
- In your Snowflake account, create a new network rule. For assistance, see the Snowflake documentation.
- In the Comma-separated identifiers field, add the Starburst Galaxy CIDR
block
172.16.0.0/16.
Add the rule to a network policy #
In your Snowflake account, add your newly created network rule to a new or existing network policy. For assistance, see the Snowflake documentation.
As the final step, contact your Starburst technical resource to complete your PrivateLink configuration.
