Clients

Use a client to send SQL queries to data sources connected to Starburst Enterprise platform (SEP), and to receive and process results.

Client drivers

Client drivers, also known as client libraries, provide the underpinnings for client applications to connect to and communicate with Starburst Enterprise. Client applications range from large-scale commercial programs to your own custom programs and scripts.

The following client drivers are supported as part of each Starburst Enterprise release:

Community-supported drivers

A number of drivers are developed and supported by open source communities. These include drivers for the following languages and environments:

Client protocol

All client drivers and client applications communicate with the SEP coordinator using the client protocol.

Configure support for the spooling protocol on the cluster to improve throughput for client interactions with higher data transfer demands.
